Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra:

Artistic Director: István Várdai

Concertmaster: Péter Tfirst

This evening focuses on some of the less frequently performed yet remarkable gems of the Viennese Classical era. Michael Haydn’s Notturno adds a distinctive colour to the sound palette with its use of winds, while the works of Dittersdorf and Mozart exude elegance, lightness, and playful charm. The concert concludes with the spirited finale of Beethoven’s famous Kreutzer Sonata, presented here in an arrangement for string orchestra. The historic halls of the Festetics Palace provide a fitting setting for such timeless refinement – an evening of discovery, delicacy, and enduring music.:

Programme:

Michael Haydn: Notturno in F major

Dittersdorf: Serenade in F major

Mozart: Divertimento in B-flat major, K. 137

Beethoven: Kreutzer Sonata in A major, Op. 47 – 3rd movement, arranged for string orchestra
